Stepping Into Your Gifts When You're Not Sure How They'll Be Received

I'm 51 years old, and my gifts are plentiful.

I'm an accomplished artist. I'm a yoga and meditation teacher. I'm a Reiki and shamanic practitioner and an energy healer. I'm a psychic medium as well. I'm deeply connected to myself and to my practice. Now I'm beginning to expand that practice outward, letting my gifts help heal others and shining a light so they can tap into their own inner knowing.

Here's what I know to be true: you already have everything you need inside you. It was built in from the start. We have an incredible capacity to love ourselves enough to push ourselves, to show up with integrity for our mind, body, and spirit, and to make our own dreams come true. None of that requires anyone's permission.

I don't need permission from people who don't believe in my gifts. That's their business, not mine. The only person who needs to believe in my gifts is me, because I have so much to give.

And I'll be honest: I worry sometimes. I'd be lying if I said I didn't. I wonder how all of this will be received. But other people's opinions of us really are none of our business. When we live by someone else's limiting beliefs about themselves, or about us, we never reach our full potential or our authenticity.

So I'd be doing an injustice to myself, and to everyone I'm meant to reach, if I kept my gifts to myself.

This is my very first blog post. This is me stepping into my light and into what I'm meant to share with the world. I'm no longer available to shrink myself to fit anyone else's vision of me. I'm going to let myself shine, and let others receive the God-given gifts I have to offer.

And I'm so proud of myself.
